Adventurous Spirit Travel is more than a tour company. We consider ourselves to be an open, conscious traveling community. Our intention is to go out into the world with an awareness of why we are going to a particular place, what we are looking for and how we can give back. In a way, we are modern day pilgrims.

One way to fully experience the sacredness of the universe is to become a pilgrim. Since the beginning of time, people have sought out places of divine revelation in the landscape: on holy mountains, by curative springs, at ancient monuments, and near the shrines of saints.

What will we find when we go to a special place? It could be healing, clarity, inspiration, or perhaps a whole new perspective on life. What happens depends on the intention that is carried forth. To go out into the world, greeting the people and lands with respect, love and honor will help a person to reap the greater rewards of travel.

An ordinary journey as tourist leaves one unchanged, but a pilgrimage is a journey of the soul as well as the body and changes one forever. We travel to find out who we are in relation to sea, sky and stone, and to create a network with the people who make up the heartbeat of our earth. As pilgrims, we move through an inner as well as an outer landscape, seeking our soul’s connections.

Pilgrimage to sacred sites, whether to a distant land or to a special spot near your home, takes one ‘from the outside to the inside.’ It is an adventure to leave the routine of everyday life, encountering what may be unexpected, and trusting in oneself to make the most of each situation. We are thrust into the present moment where at once we become more vibrant, more alive and hopefully, more appreciative.

As our world becomes smaller, we all become more responsible for the wellbeing of each person who inhabits the Earth as well as the Earth, itself. Part of the journey of a modern day pilgrim, involves being conscious of this responsibility and aware of how we can help as we go. In this light, Adventurous Spirit Travel gives a percentage of their profits to people in the lands that we visit. Our intention is that with this gift, we have created a supportive, heart connection with that part of the world. We also offer what we can to help our beautiful Mother Earth at each place that we gather. We invite you to join us in a conscious exploration of our world and of yourself, by accompanying us and other amazing people to the special places we visit.

And this, our life,
exempt from public haunt,
finds tongues in trees,
books in the running brooks,
sermons in the stones,
and good in everything.
~ William Shakespeare
